This Privacy Policy explains how Samjho India ("Samjho", "we", "us") handles personal information when you visit samjhoindia.com, read a guide, use a calculator or contact us. It is written to be read, not to hide behind legal language.
Who we are: Samjho India is an independent informational website operated by Mohammad Bilal, based in India. For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR, we are the data controller for the information described in this policy. You can contact us at hello@samjhoindia.com.

Information we collect
- Information you give us. When you email us or use the contact form, we receive your name (if you provide it), your email address and the content of your message. The contact form opens your own email app; it does not submit data to a server on this website.
- Server and security logs. Our hosting provider, Firebase Hosting (Google), automatically records technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the page you requested, the referring page and the time of the request. We use these logs to keep the site available and secure.
- Analytics information. If you accept optional cookies, Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity collect information about how the site is used: pages viewed, session duration, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, and interactions such as clicks and scrolling. Clarity may also record session replays and heatmaps.
- Advertising information. If you accept optional cookies, Google AdSense and its partners may use cookies and similar identifiers to measure ad performance and, where you have consented, to personalize ads. This can include cookie identifiers, approximate location and information about ad impressions and clicks.
We do not ask for and do not want to receive passwords, one-time passwords (OTPs), card numbers, bank credentials or Aadhaar numbers. Please do not send them to us by email or enter them into any field on this site.
Calculators and your inputs
Every calculator on Samjho runs entirely in your web browser using JavaScript. The numbers you enter — loan amounts, income, marks, dates, prices — are processed on your device and are not transmitted to us or stored on our servers. Closing or refreshing the page clears them.
The page itself may still be measured by our analytics provider if you have accepted analytics cookies, but the values you type into a calculator are not part of that measurement.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We also use your browser's local storage to remember your cookie choice. When you first visit, a banner lets you accept or reject optional cookies. Rejecting does not block the site; it only prevents analytics and advertising cookies from being set.
We use Google's consent signals. Until you accept, analytics and advertising storage are set to "denied": Google Analytics 4 runs in a cookieless mode, and Clarity and personalized ad serving are not loaded. The Google AdSense verification script is present on every page so that Google can confirm the site, but advertising cookies and personalized advertising remain disabled until you consent.
| Cookie or identifier | Provider | Purpose | Duration | Set when |

| _clck | Microsoft Clarity | Persists a Clarity user identifier across visits. | 1 year | After you accept |
| _clsk | Microsoft Clarity | Connects page views into a single session recording. | 1 day | After you accept |

| __gpi | Google AdSense | Supports ad personalization and performance measurement. | 13 months | After you accept |
| __eoi | Google AdSense | Helps detect invalid traffic and ad fraud. | 6 months | After you accept |
| IDE | Google DoubleClick | Used to personalize and measure ads across websites. | Up to 13 months in the EEA, up to 24 months elsewhere | After you accept |
| test_cookie | Google DoubleClick | Checks whether your browser accepts cookies. | 15 minutes | After you accept |
Google and Microsoft may set additional identifiers that are not listed above, and their cookie names and lifetimes can change. Their own privacy policies list the current set. We do not control third-party cookies once they are set; you can remove or block them through your browser settings.
Analytics providers
Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-QH2QZWDHMM, Google LLC) helps us understand which guides and calculators are useful. It records page views, events, approximate location, device and browser information. Google uses the IP address to derive coarse location and does not store the full IP address in our analytics reports. We have configured analytics storage to remain off until you consent, and we retain analytics data in line with the property settings (up to 14 months).
Microsoft Clarity (project yqhpwvlmu7, Microsoft Corporation) provides aggregated heatmaps and, where enabled, session recordings that show how visitors interact with pages. Clarity is loaded only after you accept cookies. Session recordings are retained for a limited period (currently about 30 days). Please do not enter sensitive personal information into any field on this site; if you do, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to remove the recording.
We use these tools to understand which content helps readers and to improve the site. We do not use them to identify you by name.
Advertising: Google AdSense and DoubleClick
Samjho is free to read and is funded primarily by advertising. We use Google AdSense (publisher ID ca-pub-6197766330959347).
Third-party vendors, including Google and DoubleClick, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. Where the law requires consent, personalized advertising is enabled only after you accept optional cookies.
You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time:
- Google Ads Settings — control how Google personalizes ads for you.
- optout.aboutads.info — opt out of personalized advertising from participating companies.
- aboutads.info/choices and the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out — additional industry opt-out tools.
Opting out of personalized advertising does not mean you will stop seeing ads. It means the ads you see may be less relevant to you. You may also see non-personalized ads based on the page you are reading and your approximate location.
We do not control the cookies used by Google or other third-party advertisers, and their use of your information is governed by their own privacy policies. We do not sell your personal information for money.
How we use information
- To operate, maintain and secure the website, including detecting abuse and invalid traffic.
- To respond to your emails, corrections, topic requests and privacy requests.
- To understand which guides and calculators are useful and to improve them.
- To measure the performance of advertising and keep the site free to read.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
Legal bases for processing (GDPR and UK GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Consent (Article 6(1)(a)) for analytics cookies, advertising cookies and personalized advertising. You can withdraw consent at any time using the cookie banner or your browser settings.
- Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) for keeping the site secure, preventing fraud and abuse, maintaining server logs, responding to messages and improving our content. We balance these interests against your rights and freedoms.
- Legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)) where we are required to retain or disclose information by law.
Your rights under GDPR and UK GDPR
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct inaccurate information;
- ask us to delete information we no longer have a lawful reason to keep;
- ask us to restrict or object to certain processing;
- receive a portable copy of information you provided to us;
- withdraw consent for analytics or advertising cookies at any time;
- lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise a right, email hello@samjhoindia.com with enough detail for us to identify the request. We respond within one month, and we may ask for information to verify your identity. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that already took place, and it does not stop non-personalized ads or essential security logging.
Your California privacy rights (CCPA and CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose; the right to delete it; the right to correct it; the right to opt out of its sale or sharing; and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights.
In the past 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information: identifiers (such as IP address, cookie identifiers and email address); and internet or other network activity (pages viewed, interactions, approximate location, ad impressions and clicks). We collect these for the purposes described above. We disclose identifiers and internet activity to Google and Microsoft as service providers and advertising partners.
We do not sell personal information for money. We may share identifiers and internet activity with Google for cross-context behavioral advertising, which can be considered "sharing" or a "sale" under the CPRA. You can opt out by choosing "Reject" in our cookie banner and by using the Google and industry opt-out links in the advertising section above. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.
To exercise your California rights, email hello@samjhoindia.com with the subject "California privacy request". You may use an authorised agent; we may ask for proof of authorisation. We respond within 45 days, with an extension where the law allows. We may need to verify your identity, and we cannot delete information held solely by Google or Microsoft under their own accounts — you must use their controls for that.
Who we share information with
- Google LLC — Google Analytics 4, Google AdSense and DoubleClick, Firebase Hosting and Google Fonts.
- Microsoft Corporation — Microsoft Clarity.
- Our email provider — to receive and reply to your messages.
- Authorities or professional advisers — where required by law, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
We do not share your email address with advertisers. We do not sell personal information for money. Service providers are required to process information only for the purposes we specify and to protect it.
International transfers
Samjho is based in India, and the service providers listed above are mainly based in the United States. Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where those providers operate. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or an applicable adequacy framework. You can ask us for more information about the safeguards we rely on.
Data retention
- Server and security logs: kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting, then deleted or aggregated.
- Google Analytics 4: retained according to the property settings, currently up to 14 months.
- Microsoft Clarity: session recordings are retained for a limited period (currently about 30 days); aggregated data may be kept longer.
- Emails and contact messages: kept for as long as needed to resolve your request and for a reasonable record afterwards, normally no more than 24 months.
- Your cookie choice: stored in your browser until you clear it or change it.
Children's privacy
Samjho is written for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA and UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it. Parents and guardians can also use the cookie banner and browser controls to limit analytics and advertising cookies on a shared device.
Your choices and how to opt out
- Our cookie banner: choose "Reject" to prevent analytics and advertising cookies. You can change your choice by clearing the site's local storage or using the browser controls below.
- Browser settings: block or delete cookies for this and other sites. Blocking all cookies may affect some site features.
- Google ads: use Google Ads Settings to control personalized advertising.
- Industry opt-outs: use optout.aboutads.info or the NAI opt-out.
- Mobile devices: reset or limit your advertising ID in your phone's privacy settings.
We do not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals because there is no consistent industry standard. The cookie banner and the opt-out links above are the reliable ways to control analytics and advertising on this site.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our tools, providers or legal obligations change. The "last updated" date at the top shows when it was last revised. If a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will highlight it on the site or in the cookie banner before it takes effect.
Contact us
Questions, corrections or privacy requests can be sent to hello@samjhoindia.com. Put "Privacy request" in the subject line for access, deletion or opt-out requests. We aim to acknowledge privacy requests within two business days and to complete them within the timelines required by law (one month under GDPR, 45 days under the CCPA/CPRA).
If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to complain to your local data protection authority or, in California, to contact the California Privacy Protection Agency.
