About Samjho

Samjho ("understand" in Hindi and Urdu) was built for a simple reason: a lot of everyday Indian life runs on terms and numbers that are never actually explained anywhere — GST on a bill, EMI on a loan offer, CGPA on a report card, UAN on a payslip.

Instead of another long article full of jargon, Samjho tries to answer three questions for each topic: what does this actually mean, why should I care, and if there's a number involved, can I work it out myself right now.

What Samjho is

• A set of plain-English explanations for common Indian money, document, education, job and technology questions.
• A set of calculators that run entirely in your browser, so your numbers are never sent anywhere.
• An independent resource, built and maintained without claiming any official or government status.

What Samjho isn't

• Samjho is not a government website, a bank, or a financial institution.
• Samjho does not provide personalised financial, legal or tax advice.
• Samjho does not ask you to log in, and does not sell any product or service.
